Beauty and the Beast = Jackie and the Jason Wedding - Wedding, reception, then temple sealing

We got invited to attend a local wedding.  No this is not the YSA that we have been working on.  I wish we can claim them as our very first success but we cannot.  However, we did found out that one of my very first conversation with a YSA sister had bore fruit.  We went to visit the same ward again because we were asked to give a talk.  I saw this YSA sister and stopped to talk with her.  She told me that after our conversation, she took courage and contacted one of the YSA in another ward whom she had known for 10 years.  She simply asked a question of him, "We have been friends for many years, have you ever consider me more than that?"  She waited for an answer.  Her effort was rewarded.  They had been dating and now is engaged to be married in December, 2017.  I am so excited for them!!!  I am so thankful I was at the right place at the right moment to say the words that was meant for her to hear.  I don't ever  normally said though words to her (to be honest, I don't even remember what exactly I have said, but I remember feeling to bold and apologized to her afterward), but I definitely know I was prompted to talk with her.  I told her I want to be invited to her wedding!

Now back to the wedding, this is the wedding of Bishop Wong's son.  Bishop Wong's family was the pioneer of the early Saints in Hong Kong.  Their family was the family that President had mentioned in one of his talks.  The family who welcomed the missionary and fed them as kings even though the family were poor.  Bishop Wong was also the bishop of the Kwun Tong ward when I served there 30 plus years ago.  It was a joyous occasion and we got to visit many other members from other wards in Hong Kong.

The Bride and Groom.

Cant resist taking a picture with this beautiful back drop!
Bishop Wong and his younger sister, who looks just like her mom who has passed
Meeting my missionary again, Sister Chan (was Sister 竉 Loung)

The seven members in the middle of the picture is from the 姜 family, Seven out of eight children eventually joined the church.  Elder Sellers taught the oldest two who is standing just in front of them.  Elder James (far right) was also instrumental in teaching this family 40 years ago.  It truly is a joyous occasion to see each other again after all these years!
This is our second success, Christ and Yanti met at the YSA conference last November.  Started dating in December.  Chris works at the Wan Chai building and he was "harassed" by many of us to not wait if he likes this girl.  He proposed on 3/22/17 - he was supposed to come to the FSY training but had planned to propose so we excused him!
From right: Lui King Yuen, his wife, Brother Mak (1st counselor), us, Bishop Wong, his wife and Sister Chan.
This is the old Kwun Tong Ward bishopric 30+ years ago.  I taught Brother Lui back then.

This is the group that came and participated in the FSY temple sessions.  We just love them so much for their willingness to sacrifice and serve the youth in Hong Kong!!

Ted and I are so thankful we got to serve in our assignments.  We are grateful for the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and for the love He has for all of his children. We feel that love every day and am thankful to be able to represent Him!
