Sister Yan, MTC update 03/16/2007

Sister Yan is doing great at the MTC, her Cantonese is coming along great! She is currently in the same class with those who have been in the class for 6 weeks, it has been a challenge for her, but it really push her in learning the language. She have entered the MTC a week ahead of her own group, and have been assigned with those that have been in the MTC five weeks earlier. Sister Yan have mentioned "the Cantonese language is nothing like Mandarin, it is harder and more confusing." She will be changing class and will be joining her own group this coming week.

Dinner time for her is at 4:30, that's early for her, she is hungry by the time she get back to the dorm...now she understand why Justin told her to bring some food back so she don't have to rely on the fatty vending machine food. "It's like freshman year all over again...but I won't gain that weight."

She get to teach the first lesson on the Restoration during the weekend, "it should be interesting...but it should go well."

Last Tuesday night Elder Yoshihiko Kikuchi gave an awesome devotional, he talked about how the missionary should speak slowly so it allows the Spirit some time to teach. Missionaries are the preachers while the Spirit is the teachers.

Checkout www.dearelder.com, it is like writing a email to those on mission. Letters to missionaries in MTC is free and it gets to them that same evening.
