Dragon Boat Racing and Festival

Dragon Boat racing in Shatin.

We couldn't believe how many people there were!! Luckily, the weather was overcast!

Elder and Sister Sellers, Sister Nielson, Sister Lee and us.

We went and have lunch at a near by floating restaurant.  We find out that you can see the race much better when it is being broadcaster on TV!  However, we didn't feel bad that we went because we can see how excited every one was even with the crowd.  We ran into Sister Funk, Elder and Sister Meurs.  Elder Meurs thinks we should have a LDS dragon boat next year!!

Area Review

We have the privilege of helping the Area Presidency hosted Elder Quentin L. Cook, Elder Christopher Waddell (from Presiding Bishopric) and Elder Soares (Presidency of the the Seventy) and their wife.  They had very busy schedules and traveled most days on red eyed flights so that they can meet as many Saints as possible, between the three of them, they visited Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Bangkok, Cambodia and other places that I did not know about.

The most special part was that we got to take a picture with them and had a special meeting/devotional in which Elder Cook bore his testimony and told us that he had come to know the Savior's face and his voice! We were thankful we could meet with him and received a apostolic blessing from him.  Then we got to serve them dinner!  It was a honor to be at the feet of an apostle!

I had a last meeting with Elder Sam Wong before his leaving to serve as Mission president of the Vancouver Canada mission.  It has been a privilege to serve with and for him.  He will make a great mission president.  All these church leaders we are able to serve with teaches me their desire to serve whenever they are called.  This is really God's true church on the earth and He is leading and guiding this church thru insignificant people like us!!  We only need to have a desire to serve Him and He will use us in helping build his kingdom on the earth!!

We traveled to Taiwan for our third training session with all the YSA counselors.  It was a success.  Everyone is getting nervous and excited about the upcoming event is less than 6 weeks!  We expect some challenges in the next few weeks because Satan always try to detour us but I know as we face the challenges head on, the Lord will bless us for our efforts.

We attended our first wedding resulting from our involvement with YSA in Hong Kong this pass weekend.  Esther Lau was called as one of our assistant coordinator but then got engaged to Edward.  We met Edward in one of the very first ward we visited, We know he was dating and encourage him to propose if he feels this is the one right one for him.  He did and we were so glad to see them begin this journey together!  I was able to help Esther with her dress she ordered from China.  I knew exactly what the problem was because I had helped Lisa fixed her dress from China before.  I was so glad I could help!

Fun Stuffs

You might wondered what is a chiffon cake doing in my blog ... Back earlier in the year I bought a whole bunch of cocktail cake mix for the girls.  I bought enough that they offered a cooking class if I sign up online with them.  I was too busy and never got around to register.  Then out of the blue they called and scheduled a day for me to go learn how to bake.  We were talking at the everyday branch so I was just going to skip.  Then Brother Herman Ngai came up one day and we offer for him to go. He went on Friday and learned how to make bread and chiffon cake.  He brought it over for all of us to enjoy.  It tastes yummy ... lemon chiffon cake!

This little toy cat makes me missed my little Mila!  When she was here, she could spot this cat from far away and keep running to it and would not leave this alone.  We walked by it today and has to take a picture of it because it makes me miss Mila!
